So how does one know if they have adrenal fatigue? Symptoms include listlessness and lack of energy, especially in the morning. People suffering from adrenal fatigue like to take afternoon naps to “recharge their batteries.” They always seem to lack the energy they need to perform the daily tasks, and they frequently crave foods high in carbohydrates, sugar and caffeine. Another symptom of adrenal fatigue is that sufferers just can’t seem to get enough sleep. For some reason, adrenal fatigue typically occurs more often in women than men.

Adrenal fatigue occurs when the adrenal glands are unable to supply the body with the hormones required to function properly. Adrenal fatigue often is due to chronic stress and/or illness. Lifestyle improvements that can help improve adrenal gland production include stopping smoking, reducing drug and alcohol consumption, eating a well-balanced diet and becoming aware of and removing food intolerances. In some cases, self massage and acupressure can be done just inside the ankle between the medial malleolus and the Achilles tendon.
